The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that the State of Kuwait shares the international community’s celebration of the International Human Rights Day, which is scheduled for the tenth of December. In commemoration of the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. Which is one of the most important historical documents achieved by society in International law in the field of human rights, through which it guarantees rights and establishes freedoms and advocates equality between individuals without discrimination.   Given that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the first building block in building a wide-ranging system that protects human beings and an international standard that guarantees their rights, and the celebration of the tenth of December is an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of human rights in building societies and the renaissance of nations, and calling for raising awareness and spreading a culture of human rights It focuses on respecting human dignity, believes in their abilities, maximizes their energies, and ensures the implementation of their rights and duties.   As we celebrate this occasion, we must recall the strenuous efforts made by the entire international community to overcome the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic, and its economic, social and psychological effects on societies. Through which the State of Kuwait realized the suffering of countries and the extent of the responsibility, so it began to stand by the brotherly and friendly countries and the relevant international organizations to address this pandemic, which necessitates all of us to work in concerted international efforts in the face of such global crises in order to achieve the best public interest and to preserve human dignity.   The State of Kuwait is deeply aware of the importance of human rights in building society and its prosperity, based on its constitutional principles and national legislation derived from the teachings of our true religion. The State of Kuwait spares no effort under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in promoting, respecting and protecting human rights. The State of Kuwait has also taken many measures, steps and initiatives that are in harmony with international human rights standards, especially with regard to basic rights, guaranteeing the right to life, the right to access health care without discrimination for all individuals, whether citizens or residents, to the required vaccinations. The State of Kuwait stresses the continuation of its efforts to implement the sustainable development goals, which come in line with the National Development Plan and considers it the main driver for its implementation, and at the same time calls for the importance of global solidarity in promoting and respecting human rights without discrimination.
