“Your Excellency Mr. Luigi Di Maio, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy,

Your Excellency Mr. Anthony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America,

Your Excellencies,

The international coalition, by meeting today in presence, assures the whole world of the unity and solidity of the position in the war against terrorism, and its ultimate defeat.

The international coalition faces great challenges that the international community is watching, which counts on us as the coalition as an indispensable grouping to defend humanity against the treacherous forces of terrorism, especially ISIS. Accordingly, the State of Kuwait cooperates with members of the International Coalition in the process of returning fighters to their countries with rehabilitation and reintegration into their societies, in accordance with the principles of international law and human rights.

The State of Kuwait renews its commitments to the international coalition and its noble goals, and remains an integral part in confronting the coalition against terrorism. Kuwait also affirms its commitment to activating the guidelines of the State of Kuwait approved in February 2018, which included, among other points, the following:

1. Preventing ISIS financing sources and disrupting its capabilities to carry out terrorist acts.

2. Exchange of information related to terrorism.

3. Transfer and return of terrorist fighters to their countries, with rehabilitation and reintegration into their societies.

4. Supporting Iraq in the process of transition from the stage of restoring stability to the stage of sustainable reconstruction.

In conclusion, I renew my sincere thanks and appreciation to the Republic of Italy and the United States of America, and I wish our meeting and the Alliance a more stable and secure world.

Thank you.”
