His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received, in the accompaniment of His Excellency Ambassador Khaled Suleiman Al-Jarallah, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries accredited to the country on Thursday, December 17th 2020. Attended by His Highness Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid Al Saud, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the State of Kuwait, His Excellency Bandar bin Muhammad Al-Attiyah, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the State of Kuwait, His Excellency Salah Ali Al-Malki, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the State of Kuwait, and His Excellency Dr. Saleh bin Amer Al-Kharousi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Kuwait And the third secretary, Khaled Rashid Al-Morshoudi, Chargé d'Affairs to the UAE embassy to the State of Kuwait
His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, began the meeting by conveying the greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawwaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince, and His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister. His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser affirmed that the State of Kuwait continues to follow the same approach of His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God rest his soul, by not interfering in the internal affairs of states, and adhering to the solidarity and unity of the Gulf. In it is the good and interests of the people of the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. In this regard, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser expressed his aspiration for the actual holding of the Gulf summit in the hospitality of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the 5th of January 2021, which demonstrates the keenness of the states and leaders to hold regular sessions of the Supreme Council, as well as embody the theme of joint endeavor to achieve common aspirations. His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser also referred to the challenges that the GCC countries faced during the new Corona pandemic (Covid-19), especially those related to strengthening the health system, enhancing food security and demographic imbalances, in addition to the loss of two GCC leaders this year, His Majesty the late Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed And His Highness the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in addition to the loss of one of the most prominent symbols of the GCC countries, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, may God rest their souls.
On their part, the ambassadors offered their sincere congratulations to His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser for the sublime confidence he had obtained from His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, by renewing him in his ministerial position, wishing him success and expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the initiative of His Excellency to meet with them In his first duties as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
At the end of the meeting, a symbolic celebration of the national holidays of the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council was held on this occasion, expressing the depth of the close fraternal relations that unite the GCC states and the deep-rooted ties and strong ties between them.
