His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Information, met on Sunday, December 13th 2020, with His Excellency Mr. David Beasley, Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Program, on the occasion of his visit to the country. During the meeting, ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the State of Kuwait and the organization were discussed, especially in light of the current global conditions due to the repercussions of the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19). For his part, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, praised the great efforts made by the World Food Program, praising the noble humanitarian achievements it has achieved in In this context, once again, on behalf of the State of Kuwait, congratulating the World Food Program on the occasion of being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for its prominent role in combating hunger and poverty around the world.
For his part, Mr. Beasley expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude for the pioneering and distinguished humanitarian role that the State of Kuwait plays in supporting the afflicted and affected peoples around the world, and its assumption of a prominent position in terms of humanitarian work regionally and internationally. Appreciating the continuous support provided by the State of Kuwait to the organization's work in service of the goals and objectives of humanitarian work, and praising the initiatives of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and its contributions in this regard.
