His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, visited the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Ankara on the sidelines of the official visit His Excellency is currently undertaking to the Republic of Turkey, where His Excellency met with the embassy members and delivered a speech on the importance of the embassy’s role in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries

His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, sent a written letter to His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, regarding the close bilateral relations that bind the two friendly countries, and ways to strengthen and develop them in all fields, in addition to issues of common concern.   The written letter was delivered to His Excellency the Turkish President by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs on Thursday, April 8th 2021, within the framework of the official visit that His Excellency is making to the Turkish capital, Ankara, to lead the delegation of the State of Kuwait participating in the work of the second session of the joint committee for Kuwaiti-Turkish cooperation, which was held on Thursday morning, April 8th 2021.   On the Kuwaiti side, the meeting was attended by His Excellency Ghassan Yousef Al-Zawawi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Turkey.

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, met with the Speaker of the Turkish Republic, Mr. Mustafa Shantoub, on Thursday, April 8th  2021. The meeting came within the framework of the official visit of His Excellency and his accompanying delegation to the Turkish capital, Ankara To lead the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the work of the second session of the Kuwaiti-Turkish Joint Committee for Cooperation, which held its work on Thursday morning, April 8th 2021.   During the meeting, the two top officials discussed the distinctive and close ties that bind the two friendly countries and peoples, and ways to advance them to broader horizons, in addition to discussing frameworks for enhancing joint cooperation in various vital and important fields for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples.   On the Kuwaiti side, the meeting was attended by Ambassador Ghassan Yousef Al-Zawawi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency the Minister Plenipotentiary Muhammad Fahd Al-Muhammad, Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Istanbul, His Excellency Counselor Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Shuraim, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for the Minister of Foreign Affairs Office, and His Excellency Adviser Muhammad Yaqoub Hayati, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, and a number of senior State Department officials.

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Muhammad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, chaired the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the work of the second session of the Kuwaiti-Turkish Joint Committee for Cooperation. Which was held in the Turkish capital Ankara on Thursday, April 8th 2021.The Turkish side was lead by His Excellency Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşolu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic.   The committee’s work witnessed a review of all vital and important areas of cooperation between the two sides, especially political, economic, developmental, media, social and environmental, and discussed ways to enhance them and raise them to broader horizons between the two friendly countries, which reflects the common desire between the two countries to develop and consolidate bilateral relations at all levels. The work of the Joint Committee for Cooperation also constitutes a model for bilateral relations between the Kuwaiti and Turkish sides, and contributes to achieving progress and prosperity of the two parties for the two countries and their friendly peoples.   The work of the second session of the Kuwaiti-Turkish joint committee for cooperation culminated in the signing of six agreements between the two friendly countries that would contribute to opening wider horizons for cooperation between the two countries and the development and consolidation of bilateral relations. The agreements signed between the two parties included the following areas:   1. The action plan between the government of the State of Kuwait and the government of the Republic of Turkey for the years 2021-2022.   2. Memorandum of Understanding in the field of the environment.   3. Protocol of cooperation between the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information and the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation.   4. Protocol for cooperation in the fields of press and media.   5. Memorandum of Understanding between the National Library of Kuwait and the General Directorate of Libraries and Publications in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.   6. Memorandum of Understanding in the field of social affairs and policies.     The agreements were signed by the State of Kuwait, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, and by the Turkish Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşolu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic.   The meeting was attended from the Kuwaiti side by Ambassador Ghassan Yusuf Al-Zawawi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency the Minister Plenipotentiary Muhammad Fahd Al-Muhammad, Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Istanbul, His Excellency Counselor Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Shuraim, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Office, and His Excellency Counselor Muhammad Yaqoub Hayati, Deputy Assistant foreign Minister for European Affairs, and a number of senior State Department officials.

On the occasion of the official visit of His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, to the Turkish capital Ankara to chair the work of the second session of the Kuwaiti-Turkish Joint Cooperation Committee, which will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021. Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşolu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic, held an official working dinner in honor of His Excellency and his accompanying delegation on Wednesday, April 7th 2021, at the Turkish presidential palace.   The dinner included a review of all the issues that bind the two friendly countries, in addition to discussing the most important regional and international developments, also the importance of the official visit and what the work of the second session of the Kuwaiti-Turkish Joint Cooperation Committee will constitute in terms of strengthening and developing bilateral relations between the two countries and their friendly peoples.   The official dinner banquet was attended by the Kuwaiti side, Ambassador Ghassan Yousef Al-Zawawi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency the Minister Plenipotentiary Muhammad Fahd Al-Muhammad, Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Istanbul, and His Excellency Counselor Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Shuraim, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Counselor Mohamed Yaqoub Hayati, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, and a number of senior officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, ...

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, met with His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of the Republic of Yemen on Wednesday, April 7th 2021. This meeting came on the occasion of Dr. Mubarak’s official visit and the accompanying delegation to the State of Kuwait. Where during the meeting, the two top officials reviewed the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and the solid historical ties between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and they discussed the overall developments of the situation in the Republic of Yemen, and the developments on the regional and international arenas.   For his part, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs reiterated during the meeting the commitment of the State of Kuwait to stand with the unity and stability of Yemen and restore security and safety to its territories, and its support for all efforts aimed at reaching a solution that leads to a lasting peace in Yemen, in accordance with the three agreed terms of reference: The Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and the relevant Security Council resolutions.   His Excellency also renewed the State of Kuwait's support for the new initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to end the crisis in Yemen, which was announced on March 22, 2021, and the agreement on a ceasefire under the supervision of the United Nations, leading to the desired political solution, as well as the condemnation and denunciation of the State of Kuwait for the continuous and repeated attacks carried out by the Houthi militias that target the suburbs and civilian installations in Yemen and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which constitutes a direct threat to the Gulf and Arab national security.   For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of the Republic of Yemen presented an explanation of the latest developments in Yemen, expressing deep praise and appreciation for the role of the State of Kuwait and its contributions towards supporting its brothers in Yemen, especially on the humanitarian level, and for its endeavors aimed at achieving security and stability and alleviating the human suffering experienced by the Yemeni people.   The meeting was attended by Ambassador Majdi Ahmed Al-Dhafiri, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dhari Al-Hijran, Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocol Affairs, Ambassador Fahad Ahmed Al-Awadi, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Arab Affairs, and Ambassador Ayham Abdel-Latif Al-Omar, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Office of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ambassador Saleh Salem Al-Loughani, Assistant foreign Minister for the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Counselor Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Shuraim, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister Affairs for the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a number of senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
