The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the strong condemnation and denunciation of the State of Kuwait for the Israeli occupation forces storming Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacking worshipers at dawn on Friday, April 15, 2022, which resulted in the injury and arrest of hundreds of innocent people. The Ministry explained that these attacks are a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of all international charters and resolutions, and a reason to fuel extremism and violence and undermine the stability of the region. The Ministry called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities in providing protection to the brotherly Palestinian people and the holy places, and to curb the attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation forces.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have agreed, under the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Kuwait City on 27/04/1441 AH corresponding to 24/12/2019 AD, to expedite the development and exploitation of the Dorra field. On 18/08/1443 AH corresponding to 21/03/2022 AD, His Royal Highness the Minister of Energy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy of the State of Kuwait agreed in the Meeting Minutes that they signed to begin to work on exploiting the Dorra field, located in the Submerged Divided Zone. The State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirm their right to exploit the natural resources in this area and that they will continue working to enforce what was agreed upon under the Meeting Minutes signed on 21/03/2022. In this regard, the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had previously invited the Islamic Republic of Iran to negotiate the delimitation of the eastern boundary of the Submerged Divided Zone but these calls were not met. The State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as a single negotiating party, renew their invitation to the Islamic Republic of Iran to hold these negotiations.
