In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait's welcome to the announcement by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen that a truce was reached and the cessation of military operations for a period of two months within Yemen and on the Yemeni-Saudi borders, according to the detailed arrangements announced by the Special Envoy and under the sponsorship of the United Nations.

The Ministry affirmed the State of Kuwait's full support for the efforts made by the United Nations to resolve the Yemeni crisis, appreciating the efforts made by the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen in reaching this armistice, which comes in line with the initiative announced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to end the Yemeni crisis in March 2021, and the rapid response of the Arab coalition to the declared truce.

The Ministry stressed the importance of this step in preparing the atmosphere for the Yemeni parties to enter into political consultations in order to reach the desired political solution in accordance with the agreed international references.

At the conclusion of its statement, the Ministry wished success for these efforts, in a way that achieves the security and sovereignty of Yemen, the aspirations of its brotherly people, and stability in the region.
